It was a brisk spring day in St. Louis, MO, as three Bridge Partners colleagues gathered for a quick lunch before heading over to the St. Louis Area Foodbank to support the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, “the largest one-day food drive in the nation.” (USPS)
This time away from work to volunteer helped colleagues come together as a group (especially important as a remote-first company) and also provided an important way to support the local community. Not just in St. Louis, but in more than 10,000 cities and towns across America, letter carriers collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers as a means to combat hunger across the nation.

“We helped prepare bags for our community while catching up and connecting over a great cause,” explained Marisa Lather, marketing director. “It was easy for our team to come together and help but felt really good participating in something that was making a much bigger impact.”
Amy Rhodes, recruiter, agreed. “It gave us a chance to work as a team and help other people – plus it was fun to see people outside of the office setting.”
Besides the comradery, this purposeful endeavor resonated deeper, too. “The volunteering really hit home for me,” shared Shawn Cop, resourcing manager. “As a child, our family struggled to make ends meet and I know what it’s like to be hungry. I am very blessed today and never worry about hunger but my childhood certainly helped me have compassion for those in need of basic essentials like food today.”
